Errors/ Come Down With me
Cindy Suzuki casts an eye over Mogwai signings Errors' album 'Come Down With me'

Come Down With Me
(Rock Action)
It's gonna be hard to discuss Errors without mentioning Mogwai, whose label they reside on, and whose tours they occasionally support. Call it lazy journalism (hell I do!), but there are traits between the two bands which echo in a favourable way.
Errors are, for example, what you could call instrumental badasses. You could say it's a contradiction to sound both improvisational and militantly structured, yet 'Germany' walks this very path; the melodies are wandering, but cut off by alien invaders and sent in interestingly different directions. 'Supertribe' starts like a Serge Gainsbourg poem, then it snaps into an electro-pop wig out.
Truth be told, I'd get into this record more if I had my lips attached to a bong and my fingers attached to a jazz cigarette. Without those preconditions it can feel slightly humourless and (god forbid the word) boring. Errors are undeniably a smart band however, and their journeys into the interzone will chime perfectly with late night partygoers.
