Fool’s GoldWant to trick your little brain box into thinking we're in the middle of an Indian summer? Maybe you'll be drinking a piña colada and preparing to join a conga line! Sound appealing? Well you may want to open up your ears to this pan-Atlantic delight.

This LA based collective infuse the most random of combinations, taking the presently en-vogue afro-beat sound (no, Fool's Gold DO NOT sound like Vampire Weekend) and jumbling it up with west-coast American folk… Oh, and did we mention that the lyrics are predominately in Hebrew?!

These bingy-boingy chanting gurus are fronted by a powerful duo from the LA scene: Luke Top and Lewis Pesacov (Foreign Born). Sir Top was born in Tel Aviv (which explains the language choice), whilst the remaining collective are made up from American West-coasters, Mexicans and Argentineans who draw upon a wide breadth of influences including Ethiopian and Congolese, through to the music of Ali Khan. Combine all these global treats and you've got a sound of greater authenticity than the majority of their Western counterparts.

Though at times this album is melodically repetitive and teetering on the pretentious, it is essentially refreshing and makes you feel all summery inside your tummy which can only be a good thing.
