If the Portishead comeback record wasn't weird enough for you, you are a very weird person. You're also a person in need of this record. As far as I can tell Gonjasufi is some kind of desert travelling hobo who someone's seen fit to give a laptop and a budget to. This is a good thing, as A Sufi And A Killer is what hipsters might call "a dope odyssey."
'She Gone' sounds like The Skatalites having a mental breakdown, 'Stardustin' takes influence from the most twisted acid casualties of the early 70s, and 'Love Of Reign' comes off like Tricky placing a voodoo curse on your very soul.
Stranger still, this all succeeds in putting you under the spell of the man, and as I conclude this review, I'm packing my bags to join him in the desert as his sex slave. Please inform my mum.
