Jukebox The Ghost open the doors into a world that’s all-dazzling, with ivories twinkling o’er head, filling the sonic stream from Philadelphia to wherever it is you sit right now. ‘Everything Under The Sun’, the band’s second full length, is nothing short of a joy.

Dripping in grown up synths – and by grown up I mean that if you were around in 1985 you’ll remember them fondly - and staggeringly climactic pop layers, there is an element of the post-modern musical theatre in the Pennsylvanian trio. Yet their stab at some semblance of ‘80s Brit Pop is nothing short of admirable; the more than hefty nod towards Beatle-mania does little to shy itself from earshot (I’m looking at you, ‘Mistletoe’!).

If this album raises one question, let it be this: who do I dig most today, Queen, Hall & Oates or Sergeant Pepper? Between ‘Carrying’, ‘Schizophrenia’ and ‘The Popular Thing’ you need never choose. Jukebox The Ghost tick every box on this one.

The vibe is a celestial aurora of slick, intelligent pop hitting the bullseye for dance-ready beats track after track after track. A triumph of high-voltage indie pop.
