The Moldy Peaches as re-imagined by Tim Burton? Cindy Suzuki lets live on Jukebox The Ghost's new album...

Jukebox The Ghost
Let Live and let Ghosts
(New Music Club)
This band of quirky piano-poppers from Washington DC are fond of drawing cartoon ghosts all over their artwork - and indeed they're at their best when there's something spooky floating through their music too.
'Static' manages to combine a 70s disco groove with a theatrical sense of impending doom - it's thrilling. Elsewhere the group can alternately sound like the Moldy Peaches as re-imagined by Tim Burton, complete with occasional operatic flourishes and endearingly lo-fi production values. The music doesn’t linger as an afterthought for too long, but for instant kicks it does the trick.
