You only have to take a quick peek at the kind of bands Paul Artrocker is currently booking to appreciate that the hardcore scene is healthy, alive and mutating into interesting new shapes.
However! The more melodic side to the genre favoured by Rolo Tomassi et al doesn't suit everyone, and with 'Eyes & Nines', Trash Talk have set about making a more traditional - and traditionally ferocious - record.
Naturally what we're talking about here is blood, spit and broken bones, and with tracks like 'Envy' and 'Rabbit Holes', the band sound as hard and fast as you'd conceivably wish to go. Elsewhere, we get torturously satanic instrumentals ('Hash Wednesday') and guest appearances from The Bronx's Matt Caughthran.
Trash Talk have climbed inside their panic attacks and taken control of the steering wheel, offering up a glimpse into what the Incredible Hulk might see every time his t-shirt starts stretching.
