2011s LOUNGE ON THE FARM festival saw some extraordinary talent, from names like EXAMPLE and THE STREETS to the unheard of, with C.W. Stoneking and Echo and the Bunnymen as firm Artrocker favourites.

With the typical British weather living up to its reputation as per, Festival go-ers at Lounge on The Farm had to contend with some sporadic showers amidst a somewhat overcast weekend. Despite this, the crowds did not fail in whipping out their Hunter’s and dressing to impress.

And the fashion wasn’t bad either! The Joy Formidable’s Ritzy Bryan in a punk/goth, sheer black mini dress was the perfect attire for glamping, whilst up and coming band Big Deal not only performed a stunning set but Alice Costelloe of the boy/girl duo gets the vote for Festival hotty. Proving rather easy on the eye, her shy demeanour and husky vocals added to her sex appeal.

Friday saw a 90s Brit pop vibe that gave precedent to parka-esque rain macs as Cast and Cornershop headlined the Meadow’s stage. Although it may have been a brimful of rain rather than ‘asha’, the boys showed that anoraks are a Festival fashion essential!

Local, Simon Martin, 20, says, ‘go to a charity shop, spend a few quid and don’t worry if it gets messy.’ We agree! You’ll find the best retro and unique designs in the chazzas!

With the main stage outside this year, layering was the key as the lads proved they could rock warm jackets or vintage knits, even with tailored shorts. Highlights on Saturday included Example and Ellie Goulding with boots and wellies doubling as foot protection against the heaving crowd. Jamie West, 25, comments, ‘At Festivals, boots are important to me because they are practical, comfortable and you never know what shit your gonna step in.’ I guess that’s something to bear
in mind (especially on a farm!)

When the sun finally made an appearance, skinny jeans were rolled up and an array of vibrant tees came on show. Thank fuck for that!
