Ben Sherman: The Plectrum Collection

This autumn, iconic British brand Ben Sherman, looks to the 1950’s for inspiration! Revisiting the rivalry between the Mods and Rockers, they draw from the clash of the two youth cultures, exploring the collision of style and merging the two lifestyles together.

The combination of ‘Mod-like’ sharp tailoring juxtaposed with leather, as worn by the rockers, creates an eclectic clash of modern style, perfect for gentlemen of today. This creative merging of styles is particularly evident in the outerwear, where the classic Parka is recreated in ballistic cotton canvas and cool panels of leather.

Strong tailoring offers structure and formal silhouettes, whilst sudden bursts of bold colour add a casual, more playful feel. The collection also features turtleneck knits alongside refined, three button suits, typical of the Mod movement – but these are now worn with biker boots and leather jackets – this new Mod has attitude!
