“I’m a girl from the 90’s... I carry my teenage years with me all the time, so I never gave up the big shirt and denim look.” From designing her own dress at the age of 12, to Design Assistant for ALEXANDRE HERCHCOVITCH, interning at LANVIN and now with her own music and fashion column, former CSS bassist, IRACEMA TREVISAN, has released her own collection of limited edition silk scarves under her own fashion line B.HEART.

Based on the idea of creating a scarf that could be a jewellery, the collection was inspired by women on the street; “I think of big chunky necklaces, palm trees, and bold graphics.” Designed in a hedonistic fashion, the casual collection features black and white geometric prints “in a tromp’loeuil of crushed and teared paper and palm tree forests” that unveil bold and beautiful statements underneath. Wooden embellishments extenuate this tropical and tribal feel and yet still the scarves exhibit sophistication.

With Diane Keaton in the film ‘Annie Hall’ as a personal inspiration, Iracema has always been understated when it comes to fashion, preffering to pass unnoticed as opposed to following novelty trends. ‘Dries Van Notten’ are a brand favourite for their effortlessly cool elegance and after moving to study, she has become influenced by Parisian culture where her style emerges more formal but still stays true to her teenage roots.

Iracema’s new home has had a profound affect on her work and the experiences she learnt became invaluable; “At the end of the day you have a product in your hands and our job is to make it look gorgeous. All designers I worked with are passionate about what they do, and that is the big lesson, I think.” Through various outlooks, Iracema has indulged herself into her main passions; fashion and music where she now also curates the Art Direction for French band Air and writes a fashion and music column for Brazilian magazine TPM. And hopefully we will be seeing some clothing items from B.Heart soon!

Ever the modest, Iracema denies being a musician. After extensive touring with CSS and designing the bands merchandise, image and styling, she looks upon her time in the band as playful experimentation; “I don’t know if I can say that I was a musician, that’s a big word. On the other hand I don’t think you need to be one to make music. The good thing with CSS was that mixture between good musicians and people that just wanted to have fun.” When Artrocker asked if she would ever return to music, she responded “Do you really want me to? hahaha I think there are times in life for each thing. I’m still passionate about it but bands have a chemistry that you can’t recreate when you want. Unless its your vocation to do so, and it was not my case.”

After leaving CSS, Iracema has concentrated her career on capturing her passions, chasing her dreams and staying true to her moral beliefs. “B.Heart stands for Bold Heart. I love the world bold, and all I’ve been doing is following my heart.”
