London’s Theatre of New Ideas Continues Tomorrow Night With ‘Fashion’s Microchic Shake-up’

Future Human #2, subtitled 'Fashion's Microchic Shake-up', is all ready to go tomorrow night at The Book Club, Shoreditch, London. It's set to provoke more discussion about style than the post-Oscar blogosphere dissections of Vera Farmiga's ruffles.

E-tickets are still available here for £8, and there will probably be a handful available on the door. Guests who order in advance are prioritised.

At 'Fashion's Microchic Shakeup', we will discuss the impact of the Internet on global fashion, and meet the startup stars and style innovators who are transforming the way we dress today. More specifically, we'll be examining the concept of 'microchic': a new, hyper-personal style drawn from a multitude of historical and geographical reference points, and enabled by the colossal informational power of the Internet.

Tomorrow night (that's Wednesday March 10), we’ll meet some of the people behind this new look; Ruth Marshall-Johnson, trend-futurist-in-chief at WGSN, the world’s leading fashion information resource; Iris Ben-David, CEO and founder of StyleShake, a website that allows you to build and tailor your own clothing; and Helen Brown, founder of Catwalk Genius, a website that supports rising designers, and crowdfunds new collections.

So join us at The Book Club at 7.00 pm for an incisive examination of how the fashion world is turning itself inside out, and embracing the microchic revolution.

Future Human events take place every second Wednesday of the month at The Book Club and last approximately two hours. Thereafter, the evening turns into a networking event for guests, who are invited to stay for cocktails, DJs and dancing. On April 14 we will reconvene for The Automated Nation.
