LOUNGE ON THE FARM FESTIVAL: PART I
Roz prepares for Lounge on the Farm...
LOUNGING AROUND
Sitting pretty on Merton Farm, Lounge on the Farm is Kent's biggest and best festival. Lounge celebrates it's local culture by showcasing independent artists, market stalls of mind-blowing local food and all on a local dairy farm....yes, the main stage is in a giant cowshed! How very Britsih are we jiving to Toots and the Maytals around our glasses of locally sourced beer.
LOUNGEWEAR
The festival season is upon us, giving everyone the chance to be daring and experimental. Artrocker was impressed by the laid-back Lounge fashion this year. Usually festivals are full to the brim of 'try-hards' and everyone wanting to look better than the next but Canterbury has it's own individual style. An apathetic approach to dress where either hippy chic or punk rock is infused with personal detailing. We were inspired by how no one gave a rat's ass and just wore what came naturally...especially as they were caught in the middle of a storming heatwave!

Artrocker got the disinct impression that this year's festival clobber was playing dress-up in animal costume. Many were doning creature headdresses and some were dressed head-to-toe in cow or lion outfits......how bizarre!

MAG MY PIE

Artrocker's favourite stall, a tucked away little secret, was a vintage tent full of summertime essentials. Magpie Vintage was a celebration of creative British culture and hertiage from the 40's right up to the 80s. The stall was run by successful local graduate; Becky Barnes who had managed to turn what was an online hobby into a successful business.

Magpie was a treasure trove of goodies; gorgeous summer dresses with vintage prints and sequins and with turquiose leather and embroidery handbags for the ladies and retro addidas jackets and loafers for the gents.
