Marianne Faithfull…A Style Icon
Roz catches up with the legendary Marianne Faithfull for some fashion advice...

A pop star at 17, a mother at 18, Mick Jagger's girlfriend at 19 and then a heroin addict and living on the street's of Soho in her thirties, where did it all go wrong? There are few legendary figures to have lived lives with as much gust and intensity, but MARIANNE FAITHFULL is still going strong, releasing her new album 'Horses and High Heals' on March 7th. Recorded with many of her faithful friends, Marianne collaborated with the likes of legend Lou Reed gaining inspiration from Dublin and Paris, where she lives.
FAITHFULL likes to live in high style. Spending so much time with THE ROLLING STONES she claims that MICK JAGGER spoiled her, she felt like a rich person. Now living in Paris, with a huge fireplace, she is still living the high life, investing in a designer wardrobe from the likes of Chanel and Balenciaga. Artrocker asked the style icon, MARIANNE FAITHFULL about fashion in the 60s and her essential advice for dressing.

Artrocker: What inspired you when you dressed back in the 60's and 70's?
Marianne Faithfull: Everything. Everything was so new and exciting, it was really colourful
A: Where did you used to shop?
M: In the 60s I would go to Biba, I lived in Chelsea so used to go the shops on Kings Road and I was friends with Ossie Clark who used to dress me.
A: How big a part was fashion in your life? Was is just a chance to play dress up or was it more about expression for you?
M: I love fashion, I always have done... I love beautiful clothes
A: How would you describe your dress now?
M: More conservative. I am getting older. I like originality as well
A: Where do you shop now?
M: Some of my favourites today are Chanel, Galliano, Marc Jacobs and Balenciaga. I wasn't able to be in London for Fashion Week this week but I try and go when I can.
A: What's your staple fashion advice for our readers?
M: Wear what looks good and have fun.
