Artrocker Awards News15:21 And that concludes our day at the races. It went quickly but at least there was no guff. Ciola!

15:16 It's time for band of the year sponsored by Briska and it is... BOMBAY BICYCLE CLUB! They're all on stage. "We've had a very funny year," says Jack. "We'd like to thank Artrocker. And Briska. Thankyou!!"

And that's it - didn't Jen Long do well? Everybody is happy... and the lights go dark to the sounds of Bombay Bicycle Club.

15:14 Plan B is now on stage introducing the Photographer of the Year. He calls winner Gavin Watson the "Martin Scorsese of photography". Watson says: "It's been beautiful working for Artrocker, it's been wonderful to have a second chance."

15:13 Gruff Rhys wins Album of the Year! "Thankyou for getting around an album which ends in the letters P-O-O", he says. Everyone claps and swoons.

15:10 John Foxx is presenting the Legend Award. "This is the guy who brought a darker kind of music into pop, and set a whole generation of people free - for better or worse. People like me, for example. So I'll always be endlessly grateful for... Gary Numan!"

Numan's up on stage looking into the mirrored surface of his Artrocker Award. "This award makes me feel very proud... and very old!" He praises Foxx right back.

15:08 Battles have won Best International Band. They're sending in a video message which is slightly blurry... I think they're saying that Artrocker rules. Which we'd have to agree with.

15:05 This is going quickly isn't it! It's the Icon Award sponsored by Farah, and Chris Artrocker is up on stage confessing he had a poster of the winner Tim Burgess on his teenage bedroom wall. Tim's up on stage now, wearing a beret. "My icons are Ian Curtis and Siouxsie Soux, so thanks to Artrocker for sort of putting me up there!" Aww, Gawd bless ya Tim.

15:00 Tom and Paul Artrocker are up on stage. "Paul has been hosting live music for longer than most of the people in this room have been alive!" says Tom. Paul is really happy to be giving the Best Live Act award to.... wait... wait... he's defining artrock... he's talking about the nature of record shops: "anything that is rock and roll" is the phrase that defines this band to him. Tom confesses he used to work for Our Price. Classic!

The award goes to The Jim Jones Revue! And now they're up on stage, all ten of 'em. They say: "In the words of Robby Tyner, kick out the jams motherfuckers."

14:55 Woo! Mojo Fury get Best New Band. And now here is.... GARY NUMAN! He lives. Er... is he presenting the Best Electro act award or nominated for it? Confusion reigns. Ah, he's awarding it - to the one and only John Foxx and the Maths. Who is up on stage and thanking the Maths! Good work Gary and John.

14:53 Rough Trade's Geoff Travis is giving Reissue Of The Year award to The Jesus and Mary Chain - que masseef cheers. His intro speech is abut how increasingly people are speaking of 'The Chain in the same breath as The Stooges and The Velvets. The man's damn right! Jim Reid accepts the award looking happy and healthy.

14:46 We're live! Chris is on stage sounding mysteriously like Terry Christianson. And now here's Jen Long, our host! She says she's not gonna talk too much, as she wants to get a few drinks in. Understandable. Best artwork has gone to Boxes! Well done Boxes. Best video has gone to Is Tropical! Well, the crowd seem happy with that.

14:27 Is it... about... to... start? (contemplates bar run from laptop perch)

14:19 OK! The DJ has just pressed play on The Man Dont Give A Fuck and it the crowd is looking healthy. Woo! Artrocker Awards is go. It's just gone lunchtime and everyone is already looking a bit merry on Sailor Jerry's rum. Hic.

10:37AM Guten tag! Here we are at XOYO, and here I am, your minion for the day, Ric Rawlins. There's naff all to report yet - our awards team are running around with walkie talkies... the wi fi seems to be working... crates of booze are getting wheeled past my face... everything's looking upbeat!

It's going to be an interesting day - as has already been reported, Gary Numan and Tim Burgess are getting legend/icon awards, plus we've got Plan B and rumour has it, a certain Primal Scream frontman appearing to present awards. But those are just the known unknowns - what of the unknown unknowns? We'll find out from 1.30pm.
