Belakiss’ Japanese Tour Diary #4: Bowling Away The Blues
Onstage highs turn into post-gig lows as Belakiss' tour of Japan hits its stride...
Nagoya has a different feel to Osaka - it's younger and more hip. The hotel is much nicer than our base in Tokyo; the pillows feel less like they are filled up with fucked hammers and ball bearings.
As we pull up the the venue we are all buzzing. I think we're really hitting our stride on tour now - which is typical, seeing how there are only two shows left, ha ha. Having taken a leaf out of Kasabian's book and purchased some speakers it's all about busting out some serious tunage before you go on. Trust me it works. As we hit the stage we're all buzzing.
For the first time we didn't just feel like a support band - we got them going crazy ands singing along to the songs, bouncing up and down - awesome. When we come off we are all on another planet.
Backstage is like a full on party with Kasabian joining us in our dressing room before they go. Tatia and myself have to give Tom a few lessons in drum and bass. Kasabian blow the roof off yet again. We agree that its the best gig of the tour for both of us.
After the gig its a difficult thing to try and keep the buzz going from when you're onstage - y ou can sometimes feel depressed even though you've just blown the back doors off of 3,000 people. We need bright lights and loud noise. Bowling it is then - pissed up bowling till 5am.
Back to Tokyo for the last gig of the tour. It's sold out so should be sick. See you tomorrow. x
