THE CATCHER IN THE RYE - J.D. SALINGER
"It's a pretty obvious teenage book, although I think it still has a lot of resonance with me now and probably will in the future. The main character Holden Caulfield is just someone it's easy to identify with if you're doing the miserable, isolated, I-dont-like-or-trust-the-world, trying to figure out who you are, kind of teenage years. Which I'm pretty sure a lot of people feel like way beyond their teenage years - it's just that you're not supposed to admit it, you're supposed to "grow up"."
