Great Escape 2010: The Artrocker Stage Interviews 1
We catch up with bands stage-side at The Great Escape to see what they think of the festival so far...
The Artrocker stage at the Great Escape 2010 has already kicked off with a violent judder, with the first day set to be the most hardcorest of all. Is 'hardcorest' a word? We'll ponder that one later.
Make sure you're following Rory Carroll as he Tweets us with all the latest goings on. In the meantime, Ric Rawlins is posted at our stage at the Hope, conducting 30 second long interviews with the bands as they stagger offtstage.
According to Ric, the interviews are "very strictly thirty seconds.I have a stopwatch."
Let's see how the bands are coping over there.
ONO PALINDOMES
Are you enjoying Brighton?
Yes! Definately.
What's the weather like here?
Sunny as always!
It's 1pm, are you drinking yet?
Hair of the dog's a bit later on, although my bandmate Sam is on top of our van right now (point across the road) and he's totally trashed.
What will you be tippling on later?
Usually we're a yo-ho-ho rum band.
Anyone you're looking forwards to seeing?
And So I Watch You... Chickenhawk... Pulled Apart...
Final words?
Peace, love.
THE JCQ
How did the gig go?
It went very well, thankyou.
How would you describe your sound?
Noisy, very noisy.
Are you staying here the whole weekend?
We're playing another show in half an hour at the Freebutt, then I've gotta go to work!
What are you doing?
I'm a shop floor assistant at Waitrose, so I've gotta go there. Living the rock and roll dream!
Any final words?
Love The JCQ!
RUN WALK
Did you enjoy your set?
It was good man, really good fun!
What sort of feeling do you get during a show?
Like I want to die!
Why?
I don't know... we have a few songs I just want to pass out during... it's just too much really...
Have you ever suffered any serious injuries while playing?
I've got a pretty fucked up hand... nothing too serious though. Yet.
