Jukebox Chatter: Anchorsong
We caught up with Tru Thoughts man Anchorsong on his way back from Soundwave 2012 (recently reviewed on this very site!) for a bit of Jukebox Chatter
Hiya, you just got back from Soundwave Festival, how was it for you?
It was awesome. I enjoyed both playing at the main stage and on the boat. I also managed to see many great sets, and my favorite was fLako's one, who happened to share the accommodation with me there. It was fun to hang around with him & Kutmah too.
The excitement around your name has exploded over the past couple of months, what's the secret to your sudden success?
I don't feel I'm experiencing such a sudden success to be honest. I started this project in 2004 and been giging constantly in London for past four years or so. I do think my music is gradually spreading though.
You're signed to Brighton label Tru Thoughts, which has become a bit of a indie Templar, how you finding being with them?
I'm very happy with working them as they're supportive and simply good people to work with. I had been rejected when I sent them a demo CD when I was back in Japan, so I felt like I achieved some kind of revenge when I signed to them.
Finally, you've got one token in the jukebox, what's it going to be?
