Dan SartainYour new LP is a fast and furious party album. Was it equally quick and satisfying to record?

Party record is a good name for it, I'm going to steal that. The turn-around for this record was quick and also satisfying. I did not want to spin my wheels and bang my head against the wall making this album. I got over a stupid phobia I had against clear drumheads, Marshall half-stacks, protools, and Fender guitars. I recorded this in San Francisco's mission district, so I obtained a new found phobia of jerks with beards and people who collect taxidermy.

What's your favourite song from the record and why?

Now Now Now. It has a good hook and Jane Wiedlin from the Go-Go's played and sang on it. One of the first songs I learned to play on guitar was a Go-Go's song so I am very excited about this.

We can imagine people dancing to this record - but what are you like at dancing yourself?

I have two left feet. If you saw Crispin Glover dance in Friday the 13th Part 4, thats pretty much what I look like when I dance.

What news/current affairs story interests you the most at the moment and why?

I think it's time we brought those boys home from 'Nam. What the hell are we fighting for?

Finally, you have credit for one song on the jukebox. What are you going for?

Stiff Meat by Beehive and the Barracudas!
