Jukebox Chatter: H Hawkline

H. Hawkline, sut wyt ti (I understand that means ‘how are you’, by Google translates standards)? You are quite the dab-hand at speaking Welsh, what’s your favourite Welsh word?
Dwi'n dda iawn, diolch i chi am ofyn. Welsh is my first language and on a day to day basis I speak it more than I do English, I would have to say that my favourite two words, are 'spigoglys' ('spinach' pronounced spee-gog-liss) and 'boncathod' ('buzzard' pronounced 'bon-cath-odd'). I like spigoglys because when you see it written it looks like 'spy goggles'.

Fellow Welshman, Huw Stephens, heralded one of your recent gigs as, "one of the best things I’ve ever seen down The Social, and I’ve seen SFA and Bon Iver down here". How does it feel to be categorised with such artists?
It feels quite ridiculous, I think I might have just caught him in a very good mood, we did have a good gig though and it's nice that some people there enjoyed it.

You have a very busy schedule throughout September, with touring the new album and what not. What is a pet hate you have about touring?
I don't think I've been doing it long enough to have developed any pet hates, at the minute whenever I go away it's always a joy. Although I did once attack someone with a fire extinguisher for finishing a crossword I had my eyes on.

Now to the album, have you been happy with the response?
The response has been great, I try not to worry too much about reviews though I'd be lying if I said I didn't care. It's always nice
reading something where you get the sense that the reviewer has actually listened and isn't just re-jigging the press release.

Now for your swan-song token in the jukebox, what is it that you would like to share with Artrocker?
I do not like Graceland by Paul Simon, and you cannot, under any circumstances, call me Al.
