Holy StateWelcome to Jukebox Chatter, Holy State! How is the debut album coming along?

Victor: Grand, thank you for asking. Currently we're finishing off the artwork, working on some insane videos, and finalising some very, very special plans...

Do you think heavy music might get the recognition it deserves in 2012?

Victor: It's difficult to understand what is meant by "heavy". The extremity / obnoxiousness / noisiness of some music does not equal heaviness to me. I think blues can be heavier than Pig Destroyer. Heavy music's been around since Mozart; Barry White is probably the heaviest artist that ever existed (in several ways). I guess it's a genre debate, but acceptance of "extreme" forms of music can only improve the more people are exposed to it.

Robert: I guess that depends on what you define as 'heavy' and the audience which is responding to it..? Heavy music has always been recognised to some extent although not always by the wider, mainstream audiences. As we become continually more desensitised and receptive to heavier music, who knows, perhaps one day we'll hear Agoraphobic Nosebleed on Radio 4.

'Lady Magika' is very thrusting and rhythmic - would you advise people to play it in a er... romantic situation?

Robert: It's a total pelvis-pusher. We actually monitored the thrusts of our bassist, Mark Smalls, whilst he played in order to acheive the songs romantic allure and perfect tempo. We now call him The Sextronome.

What news or current affairs story interests you at the moment and why?

Robert: The end of the world. If we have to colonise another planet will there be cheese burgers or pizza?

Victor: That new War Horse moving picture looks pretty OK.

You have one credit on the jukebox - what are you gonna play?

Robert: 'The Chain', by Fleetwood Mac.
