Jukebox Chatter: The Raveonettes
With a new album out in September, we caught up with The Raveonettes to find out just what's been going on...
We haven't spoken since last May! Times flies... what's been going on your world in that time?
A lot of touring and recording music. I've also been producing and mixing for a lot of bands like Dum Dum Girls and No Joy as well.
You're new album's coming out in September, what's the pitch?
It's a hell of an album I must say...It's super bleak and hopeless. The piano has found its way into our music and it's devastatingly haunting!
'Observator' will be your sixth studio album - what's your advice to new bands on sticking it out for the long haul?
Write good songs and be as prolific as you can. That’s what will keep you both present and moving forward. It's all about the songs...
What's your observations on the current indie scene?
I have to say, it’s mostly quite uninteresting in general. A lot of wannabes out there who aren’t in any way exciting or interesting. That’s why the handful of bands who’ve been around for a few albums can do really well and continue to grow. No one is out there biting at their heels.
Finally, you have one credit on the jukebox, what's it going to be?
