New Blood Festival interviews #1: Ivory SeasHi guys, how did you feel the show went?

Really well - we were a bit nervous because it was a very early show for us, but we thought we did quite well.

What do you think of the festival itself then?

You guys have got some really good acts on, and it’s a great chance for people to see so many different bands in one night, which is not normally available. We think the sound's pretty good as well so it’s good.

How would you best describe your sound in a sentence?

We knew you would ask that question! Its rhythmical expansive music, that’s our aim anyway. We have been working with Wild Beasts’ producer, which was a conscious decision for us as we thought he would do a really good job with our sound.

Is there one band in particular that's an influence for you as a whole?

We try not to think about influences too much, which we know is virtually impossible, but we give it a go. We’d rather build things up slowly and in our own way rather than make things that are not particularly original. We try to make the songs as rhythmical as possible and drum-led.
