New Blood Festival interviews #2: Younghusband
Artrocker reporter George Cochran has been hanging out at this month's New Blood Festival, shooting the breeze with the bands. Here, he talks to melodic noise-fiends Younghusband
Hi fellas, how did you feel the show went?
We've not played for a while, so it was good to get back into the swing of things - although our singer Euan cut his finger playing. Luckily our soundman Macdeth was on hand and got him a gaffa tape plaster!
So what do you think of the festival itself?
It's wicked - I think the best bands in London at the moment are all playing, and its great to get so many bands playing in such a short space of time.
How would you best describe your sound in a sentence?
Twisted hypnotic pop music.

Is there one band in particular that's an influence for the band as a whole?
We don’t really agree on a huge number of bands but if we had to name one it would probably be Deerhunter.
What are the band’s plans for the rest of the year?
We're in the process of doing our record and hopefully we should have that done by April... or that’s when we have to present something at least!
