CastrovalvaYesterday's New Heavy Sounds festival saw the baddest, the hardest and the cruelest rock bands in the UK gather together for a merry jig.

Ten bands played over twelve hours, with promotor Paul Artrocker choosing a mixture of hardcore acts, post-post-post-post-metal acts, and even the odd calypso party band. Reeba reeba!

In between having our ear-plugs melted into a fine grain, Artrocker.TV was on hand to capture the following 30 second long interviews...

CATROVALVA

You've been here for five hours, it's three hours till you go on... how are you?
I'm feeling really tired and I want to go on now.
Are you going to boost your energies with anything before you go on?
I'll probably drink a shitload of water and maybe have some chewing gum. That might cheer me up!
Is chewing gum good for an energy boost?
Sure is, you should try it!

STRANGE NEWS FROM ANOTHER STAR

You guys are from Cardiff - is there a blossoming hardcore/hard rock scene in Cardiff?
No, we're the only hard rock band in Cardiff. All the rest are indie-fucks.
How did you enjoy your set?
I enjoyed it more at the start, even more at the end... and even more in the middle. How did you enjoy it?
Do you have any predictions for the rest of the evening?
I'll be drunk and I'll be sick on a fat girl.

BUFFALO

Why do you perform with your socks exposed to the crowd?
Because I can't feel the pedals otherwise, and I don't know what I'm pressing!
The socks are these fantastic, psychedelic patterns - are the socks becoming a feature of your set?
They are indeed, yes. We'll be trademarking psychedelic socks and selling them instead of t-shirts soon.
You're just off stage, what was going through your mind when you were up there?
Please don't cough! (Nick has a cold)

RUN WALK

You've just come offstage, how did it go?
It was good, it was loud... it was hot though!
It was a pretty violent, ferocious set - what's going through your mind when you're up there?
The hatred of Voldemort and all his Death Eaters.
Who's Voldemort?
That's a ridiculous questions!
Fair enough! What are your post gig vibes?
Indigestion and sweat.
