Preview: Reading & Leeds
Headed to either Reading or Leeds festival this weekend? Here Artrocker’s Nathan Westley selects seven bands playing the event who should be vying for your attention.

Tribes
Artrocker put these scruffy necked Camden rockers on the cover of issue 113 after the band had only released one single, it’s safe to say that we here are big fans. Key tune to listen out for: Sappho
Spector
Love them or hate them, these eloquently spoken London based indie hipsters seem to attract as many adoring comments as they do vitriol. Key tune to listen out for: Chevy Thunder.
The Maccabees
Find themselves headlining the second stage while at the same time The Cure can be found on the main and Sleigh Bells will be on the Festival Republic stage .... it’ll be a hard decision, but we think we would pluck for these. Key Tune to listen out for: Feel To Follow
At The Drive-In
This bands last album ‘The Relationship of Command’ should be essential listening for anyone with even a passing interest of Post-hardcore. Expect their performance to be riotous. Key tune to listen out for: One Armed Scissor.
Savages
London based four piece currently getting A&R’s drooling. If you have not heard of Savages now, go see them play and understand just why everybody else is vividly excited. Key tune to listen out for: Husbands
Toy
Ex-touring partners of The Horrors, these retro obsessed long haired rockers mix together a mesmerising sound that feeds off of post-punk, Krautrock and psychedelia. Key tune to listen out for: Left Myself Behind.
Tall Ships
This energetic trio recently received a New Blood feature by us. Key tune to listen out for: Chemistry
