'Laydown' is the B-side to our single, 'Palm'. It's our Roxanne, as it talks about the relationship between a prostitute and a punter. Musically, it's more mellow than 'Palm', showing a different side to I am in love. We're not just all about being loud and in your face. 'Laydown', Like most of our songs, Seb and Martin wrote it under the stairs in their North London flat. We spent a lot of time working on the groove of the drums and bass. I think that if you get this right initially, then a song can really punch regardless of it being thrashy or sweet. 'Laydown' is sweeter. However, it does thrash out at the end, I wouldn't say it ends on a sour note though.

The band celebrate the launch of their new single with a London show at the Servant Jazz Quarters Dalston on October 24. Palm is available from October 29.
