Young Guns prepare for Redfest 2012…
This weekends festival is sure to be rocking hard, so we sat down with one of the acts to discuss avoiding brown acid
Young Guns, will be headlining the staunchly independent festival Redfest this year alongside Missing Andy, Foreign Beggars, Modestep and Kids in Glass Houses. With a reputation for championing emerging bands and conveniently located in Redhill, Surrey.
We sat down with Ben Jolliffe of Young Guns in preparation for their appearance at Redfest next weekend weekend, this is what he had to say for himself...
Who else are you looking forward to seeing at RedFest and why?
There's loads of great bands playing at RedFest. If we can stay for the weekend i'd love to see our boys in Deaf Havana, Kids in Glass Houses, Straight Lines, Don Broco and Franko. All great bands!
Does your band have any party tricks you pull out when playing live at festivals?
Festivals are the best time to try out your best tricks. Everyone's in good spirits and are usually up for trying anything. We always try and keep the crowd participation as involved as possible. Without giving too much away, we'll certainly be planning on making it as crazy and as fun as possible.
What track from your setlist is most likely to make it rain, and which is most likely to bring out the sun?
for rain, if we play it, it has to be 'There Will Be Rain' I'll never forget playing Sonisphere one year and as we started playing that song it chucked it down. I'll go with our latest single 'Dearly Departed' for sun. It's a feel good, upbeat song.
Finally, have you ever sampled the brown acid?
I haven't tried it, no. I think I'm good though, doesn't sound too appealing. I'll just stick to the warm beer and hot dogs.
