Young Knives Tour Diary: Part ThreeGLASGOW

Tour diary Glasgow

Glasgow is a long way to drive so the day was spent slogging up the country. Good chance to catch up on some zeds and finish off watching some amazingly bad Martin Lawrence movie, I mean really bad.

Stopped off at a lay-by café for something that I shouldn’t have eaten. I was amazed to find that the chap serving the sick in a roll also managed to squeeze a racist remark into the second sentence he said to us. Its always a quandary deciding whether to say something and of course we did no such thing; don’t want to offend the man who has just been really offensive, good one team.

Anyway, to try and make amends we shouted “racist ****” out the window as we drove off with a lame “run away” style bravery, but by that point we had given him money and he had poisoned us. Racist 3, Young Knives 0.

House’s shoes are slowly falling off his feet so he puts out a facebook request to anyone who has some spare size 9’s to bring them to Birmingham. This is, I feel an abuse of our fan’s generous nature. He is not a proud man.

King Tut’s is one of those venues that treats you with respect, they cook, they make sandwiches, they smile and say “nice to see you”. All of which put us in the mood to make good times better.

Flash Fiktion and The Neat both play stormers and the sound is great. Gig is definitely the best of the tour so far. Some one keeps shouting for “Night of the trees” but we haven’t played that track since 2005 so it’s an impossibility. But we manage to get in an unplanned Dialling Darling as asked for by the audience. Ollie has a blank on the drum part and just jams the whole song, but it works in a free jazz kind of way.

Glasshouse finally sounds really good tonight to and I can tell that everyone is having the gig of their lives yeah! Time to get on the town. But I loose the will in a big leather hotel sofa and leave the partying up to Ed and House. They smash up Nice and Sleazy’s with The Neat. Apparently I missed a great night.
