Howling Owl Infestation / Old Blue Last

We love Howling Owl, as you've probably already noticed. And last night they hit the Old Blue Last, East London's legendary gig venue, for a night of noise. The 'noise merchants' tag on their business cards isn't just a front, y'know.
Velcro Hooks are a band you SHOULD DEFINITELY HAVE IN YOUR LIFE. And we don't write in caps lock very often, so we really mean that. Mixing gritty garage with Pixies-esque balls out rock, if you're not singing 'Girlfriend' along with the band by festivals circa 2014 then there is no justice in this musical world.
Our New Blood Unsigned winners Spectres, king pins of the party, played another stellar, noise laden set. Get 'em any bigger and we'll be developing tinnitus (it'll be almost toally worth it).
If you don't like fun, or stage invasions, keep well away from Towns, because this is generally exactly what you get. And for cresceondoing post rock epicness, you can't find much better than The Naturals. It's actually a bit embarrasing for everone else how talented Bristol is right now.
The crowd warmed up by singing Velcro Hooks' "It's been a long time coming with you" quote before they'd even started playing the song. That line kind of summed up the feeling of the night.
