Festival fans flocked to Canterbury for this year's Lounge on the Farm for a variety of numerous reasons. One of them was almost certain to be post-punk protagonists Echo and the Bunnymen, however - who made an electric performance that highlighted their glorious heyday and contained a stunning visual show to match.

Elsewhere, Graham Coxon rock and rolled, quite literally, backwards, to such hits as ‘Standing On My Own Again’ and ‘Freakin’ Out’, making for one of the loudest and most entertaining sets of the festival.

Surprisingly The Joy Formidable were one of the firm Artrocker favourites to walk the main stage, making an incredible noise from just three instruments and a couple of loop stations. The performance was topped off with a Hendrix-esque, couldn’t give a fuck, guitar throw-down. Classic.

Now in it’s sixth year, Lounge has completely transformed from a small folk festival, to megastar hotspot - which, I must say, isn't always a good thing. But although this quaintly advertised festival has suddenly, from out of the blue, acclaimed mainstream status, it has still managed to maintain the very essence of Lounge; a good old knees up!
