The Glastonbury 2011 Review - Part ThreeSUNDAY 26 JUNE

"Where's Alan?" comes the cry from some drunken imbecile at 4am. Indeed, where is he? We could do with some help around here, now that everyone's tents have become littered with food crumbs and armpit-lathered wet wipes. In fact, escape is starting to look like the only reasonable solution...

But first there is the small matter of Bombay Bicycle Club, whose new single 'Shuffle' sounds suspiciously like they're starting to have fun with this rock stardom lark. The band go down well with the increasingly surftastic weather - but not quite as well as TV On The Radio, who appropriately shred out 'Staring At The Sun's bass riffs to an ecstatic Other Stage, deranged trumpet solos and all.

Elsewhere Gruff Rhys' secret gig at the BBC Introducing Stage is pleasingly stripped back - allowing the melancholy heart masseuse 'If We Were Words We Would Rhyme' some space to do its work - and the Kaiser Chiefs seem as mental as usual.

If the day seems geared towards anything it's Beyonce of course, who delivers an ode to Michael Jackson in the dance-moves department, while gracefully sliding from one hit to the next. Vaguely bland ballads haunt the middle of the set, but the deal is sealed nonetheless thanks to 'Crazy In Love', 'Halo' and a truly weird cameo from Tricky - who looks like he's eaten some acid and stumbled onto the wrong stage.
