Two Door Cinema ClubSkippy lambs, luminous daffodils and warmer weather – all signs of the springtime bounce. Judging by scenes at the Roundhouse, there’s another marker for this turn in seasons – a Two Door Cinema Club gig.

This twenty-something trio have a definite Tigger-ish bounce and somehow, away from the radar of the press, they have attracted a legion of fans. As the band themselves say, only a year ago they were playing the Hoxton Bar and Grill. Tonight the Roundhouse is filled to the rafters.

Their music is the soundtrack to a Saturday night party ringing in the Springtime – helped by the fact their songs are packed with hooks and infectious mantras. 'Something Good Can Work' goes down as one of the highlights of this (they even manage to send people dance-mad right at the back of the venue).

The straightforward pop is metered out with some great techno beats, thundering drums and bass, homage perhaps to the band’s home on the dance label Kitsune.

Amid the big sing-a-long choruses and dancefloor anthems there are glimpses of slower, intricate guitars and hazy bass. It’s great to see Two Door building on their upbeat pop fun – and it’s this that could send them finally soaring into the limelight.
