Issue 103 - August 2010Hello Artrockers, Summer is well and truly here at Artrocker Towers and we've put together our own glorious ray of sunshine for you in the form of this month’s breathtakingingly brilliant Summer 2010 Issue complete with an exclusive ‘Sound of the Summer’ covermount CD compilation, which features some of our fave bands, as well as a bunch of brand, spanking new acts to caress (and in some cases, batter) your tasteful ear holes - I say ‘tasteful ear holes’, as we reckon you wouldn’t be reading this magazine unless you had excellent musical taste and only wanted to hear about the best and greatest new music first and stay well ahead of the game! Hear 15 tracks from the likes of cover star's Local Natives, Lightspeed Champion, Silvery, O. Children, Domino Records' new signing Chief, Phantom, and more.

We also have the best bunch of album and single reviews of the year, including some albums and tracks that are bound to make the Top This and Top That charts of 2010 come the end of the year. We’ve never given so many 4 and 5 ‘A’ star rated reviews in one issue and we’re so excited to finally hear the long-awaited albums from Sky Larkin, Bombay Bicycle Club, Mystery Jets, Jim Jones Revue, Ou Est Le Swimming Pool, Darker My Love, Silvery, Fang Island, Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin, O. Children (my personal fave and recommendation for the summer), Orphanboy, Tango In The Attic, Effi Briest, Klaxons, Au Revoir Simone, Everything Everything, and, er, Kula Shaker – whose set I went to see as a tween instead of Radiohead at Glastonbury ’97… I did catch the last four songs of Radiohead’s set, mind!

We’re now off for our summer holidays, most of which will be spent at various festivals across Europe, no doubt. We won’t see you again until September when we’ll be back tanned, rested and with a whole new look for you, as we’ll also be spending our time off making this new music behemoth even more easy on the eye and packed full of more great bands, fashion, art, games and film for your tasteful palete.

But stay in touch with Artrocker Magazine at www.artrocker.tv and look out for our weekly mailouts and daily tweets, which will satisfy your 'Artrocker itch' 'til we see you again in September.

Have a great summer, Artrockers, and don't forget the sunscreen!
