Alan McGee and Irvine Welsh collaborating on ‘Britpop the musical’
The musical will follow the story of Oasis /Super Furry Animals' label Creation Records
The story of Britpop is to be retold by Creation Records' head honcho Alan McGee and Trainspotting author Irvine Welsh.
Irvine and McGee were writing a TV drama on the subject when they were approached about turning it into a fully-blown musical.
"If we can find the right subplot, we will do it," Alan McGee told the Daily Record. "One meeting in on this one and it feels good."
The musical will, it is said, also chart the rivalry between Blur and Oasis.
