Arctic Monkeys confirmed for Olympics closing ceremony?

Band are expected to join The Spice Girls at major event

Following on from our coverage earlier in the month that the Arctic Monkeys were recording a special track for the Olympics, the bands fans were on fire this morning across twitter as a photo was leaked which apparently shows Turner and co rehearsing at the Olympic stadium.

The below photo was posted by Argentinian journalist Martin John Rinaldi on Twitter (@jotamrinaldi) this morning and then reblogged from Arctic Monkeys US - a US fan page for the band.

One website even cited that David Bowie and Oasis would be making an appearance, but we're not holding out much hope for either of those.
