Brian Jones’ gear stolen from pub
The pub doubled up as a museum dedicated to the memory of the Rolling Stones' guitarist
Rare gear including a guitar belonging to Brian Jones of the Rolling Stones has been stolen from a pub in the guitarist's home town of Cheltenham.
The Wheatsheaf Inn includes on its premises a museum dedicated to the band’s founder member, who died in 1969, aged 27.
The missing items include photos and a replica of his guitar. “They belong to people from all over the world and most of the items are one-off originals,” says a spokesman for Jones’s official fan club.
