Flaming Lips reveal secret blood storage activity
Psychedelic band are collecting the blood of their favourite musician friends including Ke$ha, Bon Iver and more
The Flaming Lips have revealed that they are collecting and storing blood from their musician buddies.
"I've got blood from Ke$ha," Wayne Coyne told Pitchfork, "And I've got blood from [Neon Indian's] Alan Palomo. Tame Impala's blood is on the way. I think I'll be getting Bon Iver's blood today."
Coyne is collecting blood for a rare special edition of the band's Record Store Day album release, The Flaming Lips and Heady Fwends, which will come complete with blood samps taken from some of the record's collaborating musicians.
The singer also described the band's next regular studio album as being "beat-less, synthesizer-like church hymns; lovely suicidal music."
