George Michael checked himself into a clinic to detox after Happy Snaps crash

I kind of have a bee in my bonnet about this story. It annoys me that George Michael, or anybody, could develop a reputation as a dangerous and intoxicated driver. How many times do you need to be caught before you're not allowed to drive any more?

George is making all the right noises after crashing his car into a Snappy Snaps in London, he says he checked himself into a rehab facility to detox. Speaking via his website, the Wham singer offered "I want to thank you all sincerely, and also to reassure those of you who worry so much for me. I fully appreciate the seriousness of my current situation, for which I truly apologise" and continued "I feel you should know that on the day after the incident I checked in to a clinic for a fourteen day detox programme here in London, which has been followed by ongoing outpatient drug counselling several times a week. Personal problems which I had tried to deal with myself had clearly got the better of me, and I am sorry that my pride has prevented me from seeking help before now"

George Michael will be sentenced in relation to the DUI incident on September 14th with the judge in the case hinting that he could face jail time.
