Green Day front man Billy Joe Armstrong has been hospitalised due to an as yet unconfirmed illness.
The remaining two members sent out a video message to fans the day the band we set to headline Bologna's I-Day Festival, stating: "We apologise profusely, this is really unfortunate. But Billie got rushed to the hospital last night due to illness, and the doctors don't think it's a good idea for him to play today".
