Following Guru's passing on Monday, several contradictory statements have been made by business partner and most recent producer Solar. A death bed letter written by Guru slamming his former-producer DJ Premier rose eyebrows among those who knew the man best. Solar has also since released a statement calling for all DJs to email him before running dedications to the legend on radio shows and in clubs around the world.
The controversy continues as Guru's family have since released a statement concerning the rapper's death. It was reported last month that Guru's family were having trouble reaching him in hospital as his visits had been blocked by Solar.
