Kate Bush vs Adele: Brit Awards release the nominations
Live performances will include Blur, Noel Gallagher and Coldplay
The 2012 Brit Award Nominations were released today, and although the nominees are a mostly play-safe, there are a few interesting battles being pitched.
Adele's three nominations find her being pitched against Kate Bush in the British Female Solo Artist category, while Arctic Monkeys will battle it out with Coldplay, Kasabian, Chase and Status and Elbow for the British Group award.
PJ Harvey might well top off her Let England Shake campaign with a Brit Award in the album of the year category, while Lana Del Rey is among the nominees for International Breakthrough Act.
Performing live will be Adele, Bruno Mars, Coldplay, Ed Sheeran, Florence + The Machine, Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds and - with their first performance in almost three years - Blur.
The Brits will be broadcast live again this year, on 21 February.
