Issue 122” I didn’t want to disappoint anyone or let anyone’s expectations down but I wanted to make the album I wanted to make, so I felt stressed out during the process but I just kept going with what I wanted to do and thought that in the end people may actually like it, if they can see that I put a lot of effort in, a lot of heart and soul into it, well that’s what I told myself anyway.”

“It’s there forever. It’s there as a representation of me as a person. I wanted to do something different and just really wanted to make something that was exciting, something that when I’m older I can look back on and not have any regrets about, know what I mean? Something that I knew that in years and years to come, I knew I can still be proud of.”

“I’ve been in loads of bands over the years. Always rock bands; a grunge band at high school and then a hardcore band after that, then a rock ‘n’ roll band and then a punk band before an indie type of one. I love pop music and I remember that in the last band I was in, I was really wanting to experiment with melodies and pop stuff; it was really where my head was at. I’ve always loved how you can have a heavy band but how it can still be pop, Metallica are metal but they have element of pop because a lot of their songs are catchy, you remember them and you sing a long, know what I mean? “
