Graham Jones' book gets turned into documentary

View from a Record StoreLast Shop Standing: The Rise, Fall and Rebirth of the independent record shop is a must read book by Proper Distribution owner Graham Jones, and it's now a full length documentary.

The fifty minute film covers 28 record stores, listed below, and tells the story of the struggles of the independents along with their recent populist revival. Featuring interviews with the likes of Paul Weller and Norman Cook along with the record store owners themselves, it's set to tell the story of why the stores are so important in music history.

It will be out on DVD on September 10, while special screenings will be taking place in Cinemas and Arts venues throughout the UK from September to December 2012.
