Lil WayneWhile Lil Wayne aka Dwayne Carter serves his token celebrity bid in New York for unlicensed possession of a firearm, a separate trial was being readied in the state of Arizona. In 2008 border control searched Wayne's tour bus and found "nearly four ounces of marijuana, an ounce of cocaine, 41 grams of Ecstasy and a .40-caliber pistol registered to Carter".

Mr Carter delivered his plea via a video feed last month and under the deal, the 30-year-old Grammy winner pleaded guilty to one count of possession of a dangerous drug. Three other drug and weapons charges were dismissed. The sentence was three years probation for the crime which will start as he continues to serve time behind bars at Rikers Island.

"We're quite glad that we were able to wrap everything up," James Tilson, Carter's Arizona attorney told Reuters. "It's a favorable plea agreement that will allow Mr. Carter to pursue his career."
