Morrissey has gig punters ‘searched’ for meat
The Smiths singer allegedly had fans 'searched for meat' at a recent gig in Middlesborough
Dedicated vegetarian Morrissey has become so anti-meat that he is having his fans "searched" for the edible ex-animal substance at his shows, according to The Mirror.
The paper reports that at a recent concert in Middlesborough, a fan had her bag searched for signs of meat.
Said fan Mel Stokes: "As you went into the venue you were funnelled through to the top of some steps where they were carrying out searches. A member of the security staff then went through my bag and told me that they were checking to make sure that I was not carrying any meat products inside".
