New record deal, new album: Future of the Left return

The band have signed to Xtra Mile Recordings and plan to release a new EP and album in the coming months

Future of the LeftFuture of the Left have signed to Xtra Mile Recordings, and have announced plans for a new EP and album.

The EP, titled Polymers are Forever, will arrive first on 14 November. In a statement, singer Andy "Falco" Falkous said that the band would also release a new album, titled The Plot Against Common Sense "in early 2012".

Of the album, he said:

"We are really VERY VERY HAPPY with this record, which is perhaps ONE DAY away from being finished (whenever we can fit that in). I would like to apologise in advance to my bandmates and the cat for how drunk I get upon its completion."

The band will also play the following live dates:

20th November Cardiff, Clwb Ifor Bach
26th November Leeds, Cockpit
29th November London, Hoxton Bar and Kitchen
