Pukkelpop 2012 given the all clear
The festival will move on from this year's tragic events while compensating those affected
The Belgian music festival Pukkelpop will go ahead in 2012, despite the tragic events which marred the festival this year.
Earlier this summer four people had been killed and seventy injured, when freak gales had forced the collapse of a stage. The organisers subsequently set up a fund for those affected.
In a statement confirming next year's event, organisers said: "Pukkelpop has suffered considerable financial losses. The festival is only be able to survive with the support of many and thanks to the strong reputation it has built up in the past. The consequences of the Pukkelpop storm will weigh heavily on Pukkelpop, the festival as well as the organisation, in the coming years".
Those who had tickets to 2011's Pukkelpop will also receive free food and drink vouchers, valued at 75 euros and 150 euros respectively, for the next three Pukkelpop festivals.
