Small venues hopeful for passing of live music law
The Live Music Bill has been passed by MPs - but isn't law just yet
Small venues in the UK will be encouraged by the news that the Live Music Bill is one step closer to becoming law.
Intimate venues are currently dissuaded from putting on live music because of high fees and strict restrictions. If passed the Live Music Bill would exempt smaller venues from having to have an entertainment licence.
The Bill has been passed through Parliament, but it still has to undergo a final consideration of amendments before it can get royal assent and become law.
