Snoop Dogg wants to give us ‘Doggystyle’ one more time
Snoop Dogg to make classic album sequel after 17 years...
Snoop Dogg is one of maybe six rappers whose name I expect the Queen to know. The others being 50 Cent, Eminem, Jay-Z, Dizzee Rascal and if not MC Hammer then probably Kanye West- although I'm not sure Kanye West's name is memorable enough to be honest. Snoop is awesome, we can all agree on that, but while his awesomeness is rarely questioned, it has to be said that the man has a very poor record of releasing albums, in fact, if we're being totally honest with ourselves, he only has one good album. Snoop Dogg's good album is not good, it's perfection, front-to-back Dr Dre production, 1993's 'Doggystyle' was somewhere between Cali-frat-boy and South Central gang-banger, what a place to be.
After such a poor run [17 years which included albums produced by Master P uurrggghhh] Snoop Dogg has decided that his best chance at following up 'Doggystyle' is to make a sequel. Snoop [real name Calvin] took to the web during a studio session with producer Swizz Beats last night to announce 'Doggystyle 2'. You should totally watch the video below...
