The Stone Roses recording new songs
"Three of four new tracks" currently being committed to tape, says filmmaker linked to the band
The Stone Roses reunion won't be an entirely nostalgic affair if today's report that the band are writing new songs transpires to be true.
Speaking to the BBC, filmmaker Chris Coghill said the band "have at least three or four new tracks recorded".
It's thought that the songs will apear on the soundtrack to Coghill's upcoming feature film Spike Island, a fictional account of a band rising out of working class estates to become pop stars, which takes inspiration from - and has the blessing of - The Stone Roses.
